Summer is here, and with it comes different experiences your child with special needs can enjoy. Our summer camp is designed to boost skills and allow your child to interact with other kids in a safe environment. Our camp offers specialized programs focusing on skills overlooked during the school year, such as cognitive, sensory, social skills, and communication skills. This way, the summer camp can promote self-advocacy and confidence naturally.
So, why should you choose a summer camp? Children with special needs tend to thrive with structure and routine, so they might feel a little lost once school ends. As we’ve mentioned earlier, the summer months can be an excellent time to work on skills that receive less attention during the school year, such as fine and gross motor skills, flexibility, self-advocacy, and collaborative skills.
Studies found that kids with special needs that spent time at a summer camp showed significant
improvements in communication, initiation, and reciprocity skills. These are skills that help us make new
friends.
